I'm at a turning point now. Clive doesn't want to play with Moss on bass any more, so he's going to talk to him. Happy to drink, spend time, get legless together, but no more music, they have different attitudes to what we're doing. This means me & Clive are back to a 2 piece with a potential sax player and then it's down to finding another bass and a drummer.

This actually allows me 2 strings to my bow, since I enjoy the "trad electric" stuff with Clive, but there's things I want to experiment with in terms of tone & structure that Moss will be up for. It won't be rock, it'll still be blues, but it'll be my blues. The only problem then is I either learn to sing or we find a voice from somewhere. The voice is the preferred option, you don't want me singing.

No other sort, Maxx. Hopefully we all end up playing our own blues.

They've cleared the air, so we're back on track for the moment, but me and Moss are still going to expand stuff separate to Clive, this lets everyone have some elbow room. And I get to play Hutto/Thorogood/punk Macdowell  slide without it getting in the way of the band.

I've sometimes felt like taking a whole band to a marriage guidance councillor.

I know Clive's been unfaithful to us and played with other men :wha:

He says it doesn't matter, it was only a bit of fun, and we're so possessive

Sounds like the start to a good song...

I've been battered
I've been used
Been took to the cleaners
Been paying my dues
But one thing I know
Is I got to play My own kind of blues
