G'day all.
As you have probably figured by my handle, I am a harp player from Oz.
I was given this handle 10 years ago by an American friend - and it kind of just stuck.
Also play keyboards and recently started learning acoustic guitar (just play open chords at this stage).
The 10 hole diatonic harp [Lee Oscar is my preferred brand] has been my main instrument for almost 20 years though, and I have recently bought a chromatic but have not practised with it yet.
Pretty hard to find time for practise with a 'time hungry' business to run.
I'm not in any band currently but do lots of guest spots with various acts.

Favorite blues artists:
John Lee Hooker
John Mayall (esp with the Bluesbreakers)
Mal Eastick, Gary Moore, Eric Clapton...........and anything cool and unique!

Hi OHM,

There's a few other Oz based harp players here on BRB. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Where are you at? I'm in the sunny (today anyway) bush capital. There's a few harp players around here, and its not a bad blues scene.

Hey Mate. Where abouts are you based? I'm in Melbourne myself - it's a wonderful city for the blues.

Thanks for your welcomes everyone, and sorry if I take a week or more to reply sometimes - I dont get enough spare time to even turn the puter on some days.
Based near the Sunshine Coast in S.E. Queensland.
There is a great appreciation of music generally in my area, and a healthy blues following also.
Naturally, I love the blues but I do spots with jazz, rock, and country bands occasionally. Even done a little gaelic music at Victoria's Port Fairy Folk festival!
Gotta say I have lurked around this forum for a bit before joining, and I like the feel here.
Hope I can contribute from time to time, and I know I will learn lots.
Cheers.....
Ozharpman.
