Withdrawal Blues in Norway

Withdrawal Blues in Norway

Postby NEONMOONY » Sun Jul 27, 2008 5:28 pm

So, I am visiting in Norway (from the Chicago area) with some other family members (from all over). We are currently in Bergen. We have have been very fortunate with the weather. It has been good weather for anywhere, about 78 with clear sky and sunshine. very nice. This is the first trip of any duration in some time that I haven't brought a guitar with me. Tried to travel light, but kind of have some withdrawals going.

Anyway, Bergen is a beautiful, touristy city. We will also visit Oslo and some relatives up in fjord country. So far, I've been able to access internet to keep up with what's happening on the Big Road.

They have a fish market here with large crowds. Lots of sailboats and blondes. Seems like a decent busker like Dan could do well here. Hope you all are doing well.

OK, so in Bergen, I met some buskers and a portrait artist. The buskers are Gee Gee Kettal and Soluna. They get around the Nordic countries quite a bit so I imagine Steiner knows of them. They are quite talented. The time stamp was US central time, actually the photo was taken at 9:23 pm.

We took a train from Bergen to Oslo. Very nice. Scenery was impressive. Currently in Oslo at a hotel. Streets are bustling with people walking about, staying outside because of the heat. It has been quite warm here and I guess they are not used to that. No air conditioning. A lot of outdoor cafe eating. Fun.

Gee Gee Kettal has two drums, he has a brush on the snare drum foot pedal, and a high hat.

Just thought some might like to see practicing artists from other places. Not like I posted scenery shots. It is in "Way Off Topic". I don't believe I said anything negative.

Naw, man, thanks for posting the pics. I wasn't ignoring you, I just couldn't think of anything clever to say. I'm always interested in Buskers and street life in other places.

Hope you're having a ball.
