I'm old, but I'm slow.

We live in Eden Prairie, MN and suffer through two distinct seasons...Winter and Road Construction.

New to this forum but have been involved with others over the years. I've always enjoyed the (mostly) civil information exchange forums provide and look forward to this one.

I'm retired and have been married for 43 years to the finest woman I've ever known. She encouraged me to take up the banjo a few years ago to fight off that condition that makes you forget things.... It seems to work... sometimes. For 50 years I've messed around with guitars and currently own a Galloup Braz/Ad cutaway. The sound of the dobro has smitten me and am here to learn more about it. Maybe this will help my memory also!

Thanks for the welcome and yes, I'm a proud, 100% Norwegian.

Any thoughts on dobros-I've been on Janet Davis Music (where I bought my Stelling 5 string) and am considering a Scheerhorn Rob Ickes. Good? Bad? Other suggestions are welcome. Thanks for your help.

Depends on what you want.

Right now Republic's resonators seem popular with the folks on here.
