Another Atlantan on board!

Postby bluesdoxiega1 » Wed Dec 21, 2005 11:30 pm

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I have been browsing the board for a while, absorbing all the info available in the posts. I play the harmonica (my first love!!) and have started learning the guitar. I have a mini-dachshund named Buddy and I also like to bake. So if you are ever in Atlanta, let me know! I might bake you some cookies or even a cake!

Welcome to da Road,Peach! I'm a harper from Minnesota, and I'd like to invite ya' on down to the Harp forum. We need all the company we can get, with all the plank spankers runnin' loose around here. (They talk about using everything under the sun to slide with-glass,brass,wrenches,sockets-but never a mention of usin' a harp to slide with.Huh.)

Hey BDG1-

Welcome to the BigRoad.

Hope to see you in the harp forum. I'm a bit of a cook myself, lots of soups and stews but the BBQ grill and the smoker are my specialties (I used to sell Kingsford Charcoal.) Since the Mrs. got sick been doing some baking as well...when they say 8 minutes on the cookies, dammit they mean 8 minutes, not 10. They'll be overdone every time.

Welcome to the Road, man!

I do some cooking myself, but I never got the hang of baking. Maybe it's that 8 minute/10 minute thing.

Bosco: I still use Kingsford - grilling is meant to be done over COALS! My girlfriend insists on gas, though...maybe that's why we're not married or shacked up after almost ten years.

BTW, Bluesdox: I checked your profile...your real name is a GREAT blues name...mind if I borrow it?

I feel so humble here, all I know is how to bake an egg.

Welcome anyway.

Cooking's easy. Just get anything hot enough, long enough, and it'll cook.

Glad you could make it, and welcome. I spent some time in the culinary field myself. I was a line cook for a few years, and even attended a year of culinary school. Its a hard place to make a living, but a great hobby.

Great Idea, Slicky! You're not that far from me. There's gotta be some others in the Philadelphia area that would have some interest.
