Exit 2

Postby willie g » Mon Apr 24, 2006 1:55 pm

Well, I'm a 58 year old retired guy living in south Jersey.I was born and raised in the Bronx, bought my first guitar (a Kay nylon string - what did I know?)during the Kingston Trio folk craze. I've always been (mainly) a folk fingerpicker and graduated to an Epiphone Cortez in '62 and finally a Martin HD-28 in '89. I went years where I never played at all. After a trip to Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry, I decided I wanted to learn the banjo, so have spent the last 2 and a half years concentrating on that. Now I find I have rotator cuff problems and am going to have to cut way back on my 5-stringing. I've rediscovered my Martin and am trying to learn some blues. Acoustic blues have always been hovering on the outskirts of my musical radar and I am very fond of the styles of Guy Davis, Keb 'Mo, Chris Smither.
So I got myself a Happy Traum DVD on Acoustic Blues Guitar and I'm off and running... wish me luck;

No, I'm not that Willie g (I came across his name somewhere - he's a designer or something for Harley Davidson) - there's also some Willie G seafood restaurants down south - also not me.
My first name is Willard, middle name George. It's that simple.
