International Blues Song Writing Contest with Grand Prize!!!

Compo10.com together with the Lakeside Blues Festival (http://www.puistoblues.fi) organizes a blues song writing contest based on blues heritage.

No entry fees.

The first part of the contest is organized on the internet during 6 weeks from the 19th of February to the 1st of April

A local Jury consisting of music professionals will select out of the received entries 60 compositions + lyrics (when applicable) to be participating in 6 weekly competitions ( ten each week )! The winner of each week will be invited to participate in the finals in Järvenpää, Finland on the 29th of June, 2007.

The Jury will award a grand prize of USD 3,000 to the winner of the finals in Finland.

Deadline for song submissions is January 31, 2007

Puistoblues is the only world-scale festival in Finland, perhaps in the whole world, arranged totally by using volunteer workforce. Arranging Puistoblues rests mainly in the hands of the members of the association and a total of around 500 volunteers every year!
Today, Puistoblues is one of the biggest blues events in Europe. Almost all of the big names in blues have visited Järvenpää. During the festival there is a variety of different events in the city of Järvenpää for all ages and music preferences.

The contest will take 6 finalists from all over the world, chosen from the weekly online contests, to play at the festival - the winner will receive 3000 USD in cash and will perform at the 2008 festival, if the performing fees etc demanded ny the artist+band are accepted by the festival organization.

Artists from all over the world are welcome to submit their blues songs.

If you haven't submitted yet, please consider doing it now. This is just one more way of promoting your music.

29 year old Layla Zoe From Canada Wins International Blues Contest

Layla Zoe a 29 year old blues musician from Canada won the international Blues Heritage Contest organized by compo10.com in association with the Lakeside Blues Festival. The contest was this year organized in honor of the 30th anniversary of Finland's biggest blues festival, the Lakeside Blues Festival (http://www.puistoblues.fi).

The six finalists performed two songs in front of the festival audience and a 6 member jury on June 29th in the small beautiful city of Jarvenpaa, next to Lake Tuusula in southern Finland.

The winner of the contest received 3000 USD in cash. Layla will also be performing at the Lakeside Blues Festival in 2008. The Lakeside Blues Festival has become one of Europe's biggest blues festivals.
