Hey everybody,

Played acoustic and electric guitar for over thirty years. Love my music !!!! Twelve months ago I was introduced to lap slide guitar. I bought a 1930s Oahu square neck guitar and the journey has begun. What a wonderful old guitar. The best $150 I have ever spent. Ten months ago I commissioned a friend and luthier to make me a Weissenborn hollow neck lap slide guitar. It is a very special instrument and I am enjoying learning how to play blues on this guitar. Much fun !!!!
So if there are any beginner fellow forum member lap sliders out there I would like to meet you and talk slide. Especially weissenborn owners. Look forward to learning heaps from all of you.

Yeah, welcome!

There are a few others on here who're pretty heavily into lap slide. I dabble in it a bit, but I'm mainly a bottlenecker.

Hey Ozzie? Where abouts are you from? I'm in Melbourne myself.

Who'd you get you build the lap slide? Luthiers who can build that kind of gear are pretty thin on the ground. They kind of info could be useful to me one day...

G'day Jellyrole,

I live up the other end, Townsville. There are plenty of great luthier's in Australia. My weissenborn was made by a friend and guitar maker who lives out bush here in Charters Towers, North Queensland. Any experienced luthier can make a good weissenborn lap slide. If you would like a photo and soundclip just make contact and I will be happy to help out a fellow lap slide player.

Cheers
