Yeah, cool music Orb! Sounds really good too... must be the recording direct to tape:)

What microphones did you use, if you don't mind me asking?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-29-06 AT 03:57 PM (EST)]It's not quite straight to tape.

I currently use a Rode NT1 at nose level and an AKG C1000S aimed at the front of the guitar. They go to separate channels in mono. The Rode runs through a cheap ART TubeMP. Both mics are fed into an Alesis compressor then into an old Roland VS880 recorder. The added reverb is a Boss reverb pedal run mono through the aux out/in of the recorder. Very 1997.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-29-06 AT 03:58 PM (EST)]Songdog, I also just fixed that inaccuracy on my myspace page about straight to "tape" that you were mentioning. That is no longer true.

Orb Mellon you have some good grooves and rhythms going on with the guitar.
I was happily surprised by it.

What made you pick your name "Orb Mellon" by the way?
It reminds me of an old band I liked called The Orb. Not exactly blues but they were good.

Very nice.
I particularly enjoyed "Heavy Water", that's an infectious guitar groove.

Thanks again everybody for the listens and the support.

I'm finally re-entering the performance scene after a long break. With my first extended gigs in almost 7 years coming up, and my first gigs ever billed as a solo act, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this all holds together live, particularly for the young indie rockers and avant garde eclectics who frequent the clubs I'm playing here in the Northeast.

One thing for sure is that a dude howling over an agressively played resonator is like an alien invasion to most non-country blues people. I'm just hoping I can land the Mother Ship.

Anyway, thanks again. This forum and its members continue to be a wonderful sounding board and resource and I feel fortunate to be interacting with y'all.

10/10 dear boy, and particularly Crazy Blues. (I must look a little different, sat here in the public library, rocking backwards & forwards with the headphones on). Loved all the tracks though.
