There's a guy who maybe didn't get enough credit for carrying the torch and influencing a whole generation of "standup" bluemen (although in the last few years he often performed sitting). Without Johnny Winter there may have been no Stevie Ray. He was a true link between the traditional and modern blues.

Johnny was someone I listened to quite a bit when I was younger, and kinda slipped off my radar. He was a great player and I bigger influence on a lot of musicians (myself included) than he probably gets credit for. Rest in peace, Johnny. The music lives on.
