bLuEs on the eDgE #5 Jimi just might approve

Jimi showed how cool the I7#9 or E7 #9 chord is.
E7#9

-8
-7
-6

This chord also sounds good in a regular chicago style shuffle or texas shuffle etc...

Taking the chord to the key of A7 blues this same chord would be up the neck a bit
A7#9
-
-13
-12
-11
-12

For me that isn't a good comping chord, it's too high pitched and could "compete" with a singer or soloist?? Maybe, so don't do that is the look you'll get.
A nice solution is to play the chord lower and in the area of all your other comping chords.
The common A7 is

-5
-6
-5
-7
-5

The chord that Jimi just might approve of is this;
A7#9 or I7 chord in an A7 blues

-
-5 - 5th
-5 - #9
-5 - b7
-4 - major 3rd
-

It's a tough sound, something that sounds good when the soloist is getting mean and dirty, punch this chord and bam, you will be experienced (lol)
This definately is a blues on the edge sound.
