If tweed is where its at for you, save your money. Which tweed deluxes have you looked at? Clones? Some fairly affordable 5E3 kits and builders out there. Even vintage can be had in the 2-3K range.

I've heard good things about these amps: Li'l Dawg Amps.

The only person I know who had a Bugera had problems with reliability. No idea how it sounded.

I'm happy with my V22. Had it for over a year now with no issues at all. i have seen horror stories online, but a quick survey of online retailers shows a vast majority of positive reviews.

I have a Bugera - a Vintage 5. It sounds good and has been reliable in the studio so far.

I got a pro junior that I like--but have an epiphone electar that is a bit sweeter for my taste--just not as powerful--they both sound great with p90's

With a Les paul pro junior is more defined--electar is real neal Young sounding

so i did buy a crate v18 112 for $125 in like new(still in the box)shape.i remember when they were discontinued they went for a buck fifty,so it isn't the deal of the century but still good.

i remember rico saying something about the tone stack in these, but i don't want to misquote him.

is it my dream amp>?? no.but pretty good for the money and temporarily fills my between a pro junior and a bassman.a little more clean headroom and maybe rectifier sag would be nice.i don't use effects ,so the reverb is lost on me.

this is the fourth 2xel84 amp i own.the pro junior and two danelectro DM25's,now this.so i must like el84's,at least till i save up for a 2x6v6 amp.

i would say this amp is about equal as a guitar or harp amp.

I will back the Bugera as a reliable and good sounding option. I don't have a V22 but I have heard them and they're cool.
I do, however, have a Bugera 6260 which I run through a modified (I converted it to open back) Marshall 212, and that is one monster tone machine, it has that Fender clean sound in spades and you can really get that big SRV sound when you turn it up. It also has a fairly good spring reverb, which can be turned on and off via a footswitch.
So, if you can;t afford the Fender you want, you might as well get the cheapest good sounding option until you can, and that would be the V22.
