Wonderantstock

What about the blues club(s) in your area? Any worth visiting? Blues festivals or events?

Wonderantstock

Been communing with Percy The Wonder Ant over on the Michael Messer board. It was his idea to have an informal knees up somewhere in the English Midlands, so we are focussed on one weekend, probably in October, at a campsite near Atherstone. It is, fortunately, attached to a pub.

So that's why it's Wonderantstock. More details closer to a definite date.

Campsite ... October ... Midlands ... why isn't there a teeth-chattering-freezing smiley-thing?

But keep me posted -- sounds like (cold) fun. Maybe Ian at Diamond Slides can make me some kind of special slide attached to wooly gloves (attached to a wood-burning stove). :)

Provided you can organise accommodation locally, it looks like Percy will be coming across to where I live to jam and party in the community room downstairs on Friday, October the 19th, and you can join in too. Also, on the Thursday we will go to the Tower Of Song and you can gaze in awe upon the majesty that is Chickenbone John in person.

On the Friday, it will be acoustic or low volume electric. Thursday, the first part of the night will be open mic, so me and Percy, and probably Clive too, will get up and enjoy ourselves. Bring fruit if you must, but take it out of the can first.

The 15th of October is a jam night at the Crossroads club. Typical of those nights, it can be a succession of train crashes and then suddenly, from out of nowhere, Music happens. Good crack anyway.
