Guild X-700

Postby NEONMOONY » Sun Jun 14, 2009 3:34 pm

Recently got a new toy. A Guild X-700. Big, fat box hollowbody, carved top archtop. Setup has neck very fast and low but no buzzing at all. Just amazing to play. Gold trim, Master volume, fat sounding pickups. The light in the pic doesn't do justice to the wood and all but maybe I can take some more in better light.

Gorgeous looking guitar. It's got the "ugh how how how..." look all over it. Congratulations!

Cheers, TB.

Daaaaayummmmmmmmmmmm. That is one sexy looking guitar. I wanna know how it sounds! What's the black knob by the selector switch for?

That's the master volume. You can adjust the volume of the two pickups individually and then adjust the volume of the whole works with that knob. For example, sometimes the neck pickup may sound a little fuller or stronger, so you can set them in relation to each other so that when you flip the toggle, they are the way you wnat them (or maybe for leads you want one stronger) but to raise or lower the volume you don't have to mess up that relationship. Pretty handy, actually.
