Need tabs to the 4 note solo (youtube)

A place to post guitar tabs separately from other discussion so it doesn’t get lost in the messages. To make it easy to search we suggest starting a new thread for each song posted and include the song name in your title. We’ll be able to make a nice archive if we keep tab here and discussion on the other forums.

Need tabs to the 4 note solo (youtube)

I've been trying to figure a lick in the 4 note solo that's been on the youtube for a while.

And I can't seem to find it.

Nice tasteful solo. Reminds me a bit of Freddie King.

A long time ago, in the 60s, I took some lessons in blues guitar and the teacher's favourite thing was box pattern playing, this is surely a part of that sytem. Don't seem to hear much about box pattern playing nowadays. Brings back a few memories.

You may find this interesting, on B.B. King's box playing:

Rico, Thank you for the link it really was informative.

When I go back to my lessons in January, if I said I want to learn box position blues until I can learn no more he should understand what I mean right?

Ok because I think I am more suited for box blues then the normal standard blues.

I don't think it's fundamentally different. This is just a way of thinking of where the scales that you use are on the fretboard. Using what's nearby so you can play without a lot of hand movement like you get when you go longitudinally up and down one or two strings.

So is that why I can play better on solo parts and not ongitudinally up and down?

No, I'm saying that you could play a solo part moving all up and down the string with a lot of motion and effort, or you can find the same notes in a "box" as these videos are demonstrating and play them with less motion.

My teacher does know what the box blues is and he will teach me on Monday and I will learn the box blues.

I'm excited because I know I can do box blues more then standard blues playing.
