For me I would have to say acoutstic, it just has more feeling in my opinion. But I do enjoy electric blues also but prefer acoutstic.

Electric is easier to play, so when I'm feeling lazy I'll choose electric.
Acoustic means less gear to haul, so when I'm feeling lazy I'll choose acoustic.

If there is no electricity, not even by battery, then acoustic is better.

If the venue's acoustics are absolutely terrible, then electric is better.

I prefer acoustic and I only like to use elctric WHEN IT IS NESSESARY, which saves me a lot of effort (lugging amps and shit around, ya know....)If I could my whole band ( 2 guitars, sax, keyboard, bass player, drummer and vocalist) to rehearse accoustically, I'd be in mecca

While I really like both, If I had to choose only one like if you were only able to take one and were left on an Island it would have to be acoustic.

I really think a "great" acoustic player has a bit more talent. When you can fill the air with as much sound as it takes to be "that" acoustic player you have all it takes.
I mean, to keep that shuffle going, playing bass lines & melodies and fingerpicking your heart out and one person can captivate an audience, that is what makes the difference to me and why I had to say this. I'm sure more songs are written on acoustic then moved to electric rather than vice versa.

Wally... I do that on electric... Just because I'm electric/acoustic means pretty much nothing to me...

Easy for me. Electric over acoustic, my preference for picking. But I like both. And the underlying key to this topic should be how good is the picker and how good is his performance? A really great acoustic performance sways me towards acoustic. And a really tasteful electric performance sways me that way. Some people get really great sounds from electric guitars, while a properly miked acoustic sounds sweet. I don't care for bangin on any guitars. Fickle, huh?

Acoustic has always been my first love, in any genre, although I do have a particular dislike for strumming guitar, which is probably one of the reasons I've got to blues music. A girl was the reason my interest in guitar first ignited. I'd had lessons at school but never really took it up with a passion, until I discovered that it impressed this particular girl I was interested in at the time. Ignite being the word. Took just over a year for the bug to truly bite if I'm being perfectly honest. I'm from Manchester and was listening to a lot of stuff like The Stone Roses at the time. I found out their guitarist fell in love with Led Zep and the second album Second Coming reflected this. I found my way back to blues from there.

Never got the girl though :(
