Should TR get a resonator?

Postby trguitar » Sun Nov 20, 2005 2:23 am

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Nov-19-05 AT 09:24 PM (EST)]It may be odd to post a MP3 in the "Equipment Blues" thread, but I am interested in the resonator. I play mostly electric, I play classic rock but love and can play blues. I recently purchased a steel slide. I tuned my acoustic / electric to open G and gave it a whirl. What do you think and should I get one? Maybe from Santa?

That sounds good, TR!

Yeah, you definitely need a reso! You'll turn into a grinnin' fool, I guarantee.

To answer the question...Yes! TR should get a resonator. I just love my Rogue Triolian

and lots of folks swear by spider bridge...here's another Rogue at an absolutely unbeatable price (might have to drop some hints to Santa about this before the sale is over)

How are you going to spend Thanksgiving playing the new Rogue reso, if you have to wait for Santa? Does not compute...

after wanting one for years I finally broke down and bought a resonator. After having one I can't imagine NOT having one. GET ONE NOW! Maybe try a brass slide as I find it gives a sweeter tone than steel or glass (well, to me anyhow). I have seen a couple in m.f. clearance/scratch&dent section go for $101. Dont hesitate though - the new printed catalog bumps price to 149. Roy BB

I'd love to get one right now, Thanksgiving does sound better than Christmas, however I need to wait at least one more payday to afford the thing. I know they wont be $129 for long (the Rouges) so I'm holding my breath. I get paid Wednesday, I'll have to see what is left when the dust settles.

TR,
When you've 'got the bucks', give this thread a 'bump', and I'm sure you'll get a lot of suggestions. Be sure to check eBay, I saw one of those Rogue spiders there this week, and it didn't get sold.

When I got my Tri for $129, the sale only lasted a week. I just checked, the the spider Rogue is still at $129...you might be in luck!

Look up the completed auctions. The owner of that unsold Rogue spider might accept an offer.

The order has been placed. Rouge Classic Spider Resonator from Musicians Friend. New ..... $129. It's gonna be my Christmas present though, so I'm gonna just check her out when she comes then have something to agonize over til Christmas morning. I ordered the roundneck sunburst. I got too many black guitars and the round neck was a must cause I wanna play with/without a slide and not lap style. I'm so excited! :)
