wah wah christmas

Postby randy101 » Wed Dec 28, 2005 1:02 am

My son gave me a Cry Baby wah pedal for Christmas. I suspect he did it because he wanted his back. He hardly ever uses his but wanted it just in case. Now that I think about it, he seldom uses any kind of effect pedal. He just plays straight into the amp, unlike so many of the young guitar players. Anybody else get and good toys this year?

Nobody gives me guitar stuff - everyone knows how weird and picky I am.

My favorite gift this year was a copy of a favorite Film - Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" - that my Brother in Law sent.

I was given a Rio Grande Strat pickup, a glass paperweight with a laser zapped 3D image of a Strat in the middle, and a picture book on B.B. King.

My best music stuff was a new music stand so I don't have to keep books spread on my bed while I'm playing, and a new guitar stand, so I have TWO at hand...

Oh, yeh...I got the giantest bottle of JD ever, and a "FAR SIDE" calendar.

My freakin' kids are twisted...but that's OK...

My girlfriend's sister gave me a very small Hohner harp, which is quite nice. Didn't get anything else music related except a blues CD and a guitar magazine.

Am still waiting on my present to myself. Bah humbug.

Tons of cd's - lots of rl burnside. Got my wife a mandolin - she has never played an instrument before & it seems it is a good match for her. Nice, Dan - 7 samurai is Kurosawa's greatest work. Check out Sanjuro & Yojimbo as well. Panhead - slide guitar & a bottle o' jack is what the holidays are about! Roy BB

Roy, I've been a fan of Kurosawa's stuff for years...ever since I found out that he invented the modern western.

Ever see any of the Zatoichi movies? Not Kurosawa, but very cool.
