Tales from the cube...

Just getting my practice space set up to do a little recording - this is with a Samson C01U into Audacity, just a short tune messing around.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks.

Your English looks good - better than my Russian, at any rate.

Any chance of a translation of your "Country Blues"? I like the Fiddle.

Hi Dan: I think you have a good representitive recording to what you sound like-aka playing in my living room in santa rosa. What kind of mic/s did you use. I assume it was all done live at once? I love talking recording. Walter

That's one mic, a Samson co1u which is a cheap but surprising USB mic. Everything at once, with a tiny bit of reverb and the whole thing given a little squeeze of compression.

Seems like since I've started recording at home, I feel "fumbly" every time I pick up a guitar. Ah well. I just need to start booking some shows again.

Another recording - a quick sketch of a song I'm hoping to record a more elaborate treatment of at some point.

Really sounding good. Had a chance to spin your cd's a few times over the weekend. Awesome stuff!! Really dig that stripped down sound on Streetwise. I've always been envious of people that can get that sound with nothing but a guitar and a stompin' foot.

Thanks, Blueswrench.

I've tweaked 'Hangin' Around" a little - raised the volume and compressed it a little more. It's got a bit more presence now.

On the other hand, I'm sitting here playing harmonica along with the soundtrack while watching
"The Replacement Killers".

Put up a new song; I think this catches the sound of my old Gibson well.

No 'verb or any of that; just a little compression.

Also put up a better recording of "Hangin' 'round on the corner".
