Mississippi Boy, New on the Harp, But Devoted

Postby ThirdFloorNorth » Wed Apr 18, 2007 7:27 pm

Hello all. I'm a Mississippi boy, Hattiesburg originally, Starkville/Columbus area now.

I've always had a love for the harp, as long as I can remember. I've always loved the blues and jazz, as a child just something about that sound would get my blood pumping and my tears flowing. Well, I always put it off, figured I would always have time.

Well, now I have a baby on the way, due June 29th (complicated story, but not married). I want my baby to grow up hearing me play a harp, so they can think back fondly on their daddy playing later in life.

I want to be able to play them the lullabies on the harp my mom used to sing to me when I was little.

And, of course, I want to be able to play blues and jazz WELL in a bar or club, solo or in a band.

It's Mississippi... time I got down to my roots.
