What? I can't hear you!

Problems, how to get them, favorite songs to play, groupies, funky bar owners, etc. NO names of clubs, please.

What? I can't hear you!

My band just finished a gig at a motor speedway this afternoon.
I wonder why they would want a Blues band in such a setting.
During time trials, practice and the actual races; it was so loud with the
sound of those racing engines, that all we did was add to the din.
We couldn't hear ourselves or even communicate on stage.
Still we played the 2 sets to no audience, got paid and left.

Truly one of the most surreal experiences in my musical career.

Reminds me of a show many years ago - we were playing at the endpoint of a Poker Run sponsored by a Philly - area motorcycle club - on a high stage in the middle of a parking lot with a swap meet, food stalls, all that.

The bulk of the bikes arrived at same time - the din of Harleys and electric guitars was quite exhillerating.
