Some folks don't sound polished, and you think they just need more practice. Some folks just don't know many songs, yet. Others actually generate a response that indicates displeasure from the listeners.

In my case, all I get are really puzzled looks, like "is that supposed to be music? It looks like a musical instrument you are holding, but how are you causing it to do that?"

Hey! I've got an E-mail on file regarding my submission, from a Britlander acquaintance. He said pretty much these words: "That sounded OK as music to my English ears, but I just couldn't detect any hint of "The Star Spangled Banner" in there anywhere." Polite and to the point!

I like your tune Ric, it reminds me of the music from the spaghetti westerns

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Sep-27-03 AT 02:11 AM (EST)]Spaghetti Rico...
Of course, it being an audio-only file, we couldn't see his dusty poncho.
I have it on good authority though, that the vocals for "Answering Machine Blues" were dubbed on by a less well known actor, as Il Rico's Italian version didn't quite scan. Archive footage from the shoot clearly shows his lips moving out of synch with the lyrics...

Lips moving out of synch? That might've had something to do with the 3 beers or so I consumed before recording it.

As for the spaghetti western SSB, I've already been told that it sounded like background music off of PBS series on the "Civil War" (nice oxymoron, that) and the history of baseball!
