Thanks SRVL,
Unfortunately the CD I received from Stumblin was a little scratched so it's skipping. When he gets back from his hols (Wednesday I think?)I'll get another copy off him and post them out to the addresses I have been given.
Oh the suspense!!

Ok, you're going to make me reveal my 'puter skills again. How do you make a copy of a CD? Do you need special equipment?

Does everybody else here really know how to do this?

I really am much more comfortable with a team of horses than with a damned 'puter. I think the reason I mainly play acoustic is that I can't always figure out how to turn on my amp.

Hello David,

To Burn a CD you only need Program Like Ahead Nero and and a CD burner if your CDROM has CDRW written on the outside of the draw its a burner or if it has 3 sets of numbers like 16x/12x/40x again it's a burner if it only has say for example 40x or 52x written on the draw it's only a CDROM and cannot burn disks ....

blinds

if you want to know more if you have a burner your welcome to send me a msg and I'll give you the instructions howto

We all sound good SRVL. There's a good mix of songs on there- some slow acoustic numbers and some uptempo rockin' ones too.

We're going to have to have a very special First Big Road Blues CD Awards ceremony. It'll be the full awards show works; red carpet, paparazzi, Billy Crystal... Or we can just vote in a thread. But awards are a must. Anyone want to suggest some categories?

Altho' I'm not on this 1st release I still think if there is any sort of awards they shouldnt be of a competitive sort that in my opinion just kills it for the not so great players like me and takes something away from the spirit of what I thought it was all about.

Just my 2c worth

I'll agree with that. I wouldn't want to scare anybody off.

Ok, a couple of questions.

If we're on the first disc, can we contribute a song on the next one? I wasn't sure if the next disc was going to be set aside for those that weren't able to get a song in on the first one.

Also...B-mouse, has anybody from The States gotten you their snail mail address yet?

Blinds,
I'm pretty sure my home computer will record on CD, though I have never done it. I had always assumed you would just do a "save as" and send it to the disc.

But, if you have the music on a disc, how do you get it saved onto a second disc? I only have one CD-Rom on the computer?

I realize this is the 'puter equivalent of asking how to tune a guitar, but I never had the occassion to do this before now.

not quite...

If you have a Windows machine, there should be a basic CD-burning program, such as Easy-CD-Creator or Nero or or or or.
Anyway, fire it up, and if it is as useful and easy as it should be, just select the option to duplicate an existing CD. Then you put it in your drive, it'll spin for awhile, then pop it out and ask for a blank CD.

Yes, there is a option in the XP menu list that says copy to CD if you right click a MP3 and I'm 99% sure windows media player has a plugin that'l do the job (I'm obviously assuming your on XP)..I've never used it personally and I don't think many do.You'd be better off just d/L a copy of Ahead Nero. It's a 3rd party program designed for the job.Best of all it's very user friendly .As for making a copy of a CD with only 1 drive I don't know the procedure with XPmedia but with Ahead Nero you just insert your Data Disk it makes a copy of it to the H/D then the draw opens and Nero wizard prompts you to insert your blank disk which it copies the information to..Thats how easy it is .

There are hundreds of burning programs around, I like nero
Its simple effective and stable.

Hi BluesMcGoo,
You can still send something in for the second compilation although those who've not sent anything in before get first priority of course. I have a couple of addresses for the states now- just waiting for Stumblin to get back.
