Blues singing forum anyone?

Postby jmhester » Thu Sep 23, 2004 12:34 pm

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Sep-23-04 AT 08:34 AM (EST)]Lately, my bandmates and I have been working on our vocal abilities. We've collected a good bit of experience, information, etc. Seems like most everybody on this board sings as well as plays. How about a forum for blues singing? It would be great to get some tips from others who do this.
Just an idea.

I think it'd be a great idea. Let's face it - the voice is the #1 instrument in the blues. Anyone else like the idea?

It's a very important aspect to blues, and if anyone has ever performed in front of an all black blues audience, vocals are ALWAYS going to be FAR MORE IMPORTANT than how flashy your solos are, and that's from my own personal experience.

I'd recommend finding a real vocal coach before I'd take any advice about singing.

Since...most Blues Rockers are doing HORRIBLE damage to their pipes and sound...pretty awful.

I'll prolly learn a ton from it, since I've never had any training, and I haven't gigged that much. Les go!
