Hello,
the vesrion EC cut was with Cream,and he borrowed it from Robert Johnson's "Traveling Riverside Blues", why...I don't know.
It is in the opening verse.

The river was the Mississippi, Friars Point was the ferry point across to West Helana,Arkansas where legal booze could be bought.

Barrellhouse being a type of rowdy bar piano,and doubling here for the horizontal mambo.
