A better recording of the same tune I posted before. It is a new clip of our radio recording at Dutch radio Drenthe, January 5th, 2014. Hope you like it.

Nice job. What kind of square neck?

Thank you Jakeblues. It's a Van Spronssen maple square neck. Dutch builder and a very fine guitar.

Lovely tone. The open sound holes make me curious.

This literally gives a more open sound. Actually, a kind of a bass ports like in a speaker cabinet.

I recently upgraded to National/Smith & Young Model 11, with that same style. The tone on the low strings was really what sold me. A noticeable difference from my Gold Tone/Beard.

That looks like a nice guitar. I also heard good things about the new National/Scheerhorn Rob Ickes Signature Model, however a bit expensive.

The Model 11 is not cheap, but still well under say a Paul Beard. Tone-wise, it's a big step up for me. I primarily play bottleneck (mostly electric at the moment), so this will serve me well for quite a while. I do love the tone you're getting. Here's a couple of recent recordings with Smith and Young Model 11:
