Thanks, kiwiblues! It's D tuning: D A D F# A D

You can see this movie as a sort of surrealistic performance :) I've always been very interested in the combination of images and music, movie soundtracks etc… Music can evoke images and vice versa.

Hi,Yall
I would like to thank Rene for a really great rendition of " killin floor" .I think it was Muddies mother or his grand mother who said blues was"back door music" Caint stop it commin in!" . I think this is particularly true of many of the great blues musicians
especially Skip James.
Upton Sinclair wrote some really powerful novels on the slaughter houses in Chicago, dreadful working conditions etc. Dorothy lange[photographer] took some really amazing photographs of the great depression in that period
once again thanks Rene [ I play your track every morning, so its on a loop in my head all day]
cheers jim.

I like it a lot, Rene, especially the way you have introduced those little variations to colour the more familiar parts of the song. Congratulations.

Thanks Jim! Very interesting background information. I will check out Upton Sinclair and Dorothy Lange. I googled some photos, intriguing. It is good to hear that I can do someone a favor with my recordings!

Thanks for your kind words ricblue and Jakeblues!

Wow. This is truly awe inspiring! What amazing lap slide technique...and a mind blowing tone out of that Weiss. Please post more. As a fellow Open D steeler, I salute (and envy) you!

Thanks 5_iron!

With lap-style technique I normally try to mute as much as possible. For playing blues I sometimes just try to obtain unmuted dirty sounds as much as possible.
