That's a pretty piece of workmanship there. P90's are an interesting touch. Looks awesome.

I am a p90 nut but that aside I think P90s are about the closest thing available to several of those old pre 50s lap steels. I have an old magnatone that sports a pickup very similar to the p90 so that's a big part of the choice there.

Speaking of pickups... Jakeblues, could that be a G&L humbucker in your lapsteel?

I've been off the bigroad for a long time...nice to be back. I finally got my password/user name all sorted out after about 4 years off the board. Glad to be back, and to see the place is still thriving!

That is drop dead gorgeous. I'll have to play a lot more lap steel before I get anywhere near something like that. Might be a build project down the road, but that's a ways down the road :)

I'm not sure what this is for a P'up. I like the sounds. It has a great warm HB tone and a nice SC when split. I haven't ventured to pull it apart. I haven't found any pix of G & L that look similar, but I also haven;t found many pix of G & L at all.

It's a whole other place to go in music but lots of fun.

Certainly close...the difference I see is that the Dimarzio's, the mounting screws screw throught the cover. On Mine, they screw through the pickguard. Maybe thye had different mounting options?
