If you want to listen

Postby bob » Wed Apr 06, 2005 6:00 pm

I just thought if anyone is curious, here's a link to a song I wrote. My daughter is singing, she's 23, and I'm playing a P80. Just a home recording(3Mb): [a href="http://sdg.ag.uidaho.edu//BobWeb/RDobbins_MeanWoman.mp3"]Mean Woman[/a]

Nothing as polished as yours!

I did a couple of tracks for the "Blues for Boz" CD at: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/4/bozmusic.htm "Amazing Grace" and "Dark Was The Night" are mine.

I think everything else I've recorded is here: http://guitarchat.net/modules.php?op=mo ... 2FRicochet That stuff goes way back, "Answering Machine Blues" being the first thing I ever composed, first thing I recorded, and first time I tried singing while playing! Did it on a boombox cassette in the bathroom after midnight one night. The "Amazing Grace" over there is the first time I ever played out in front of people, at church. Most recent things over there are "Joy To The World," "Rudolph," "Silent Night" and "Auld Lang Syne" from a few months ago. (All electric slide stuff.) I started guitar late. I'm an old newbie.

Welcome, Bob! Took the ten or so min. to download "Mean Woman".
Very nice! Interesting changes. I don't have any piano music on
the internet, but there's a snippet of my harp playing (a couple
years back). If anybody's interested, it's at cdbaby.com- The
artist is Fuzzy Whitener, the album title is "Off the Chain"
and the tune is "Down Home in the Can" I did a tune of mine
on piano on this cd, but it's not sampled on this site. I have
a P-80 too, and love every thing about it but the action
(too stiff- as I've lamented at length on this forum- sorry
guys!) But I think Doc has inadvertently put me on to a new
keyboard to consider, which I'm about to post in a new thread.
Again, welcome Bob! You play well, man! Mike King

Welcome to BRB Bob. Great song, great singing and playing on the P-80. What a great piano. Your daughter has a great voice! You wrote a great song and your playing is outstanding. Great transitions on your playing and solid licks throughout.

Dr. Ric, I have listened to all of your songs over time and love your style.

Pelle, I hadn't heard you play before. Very hot jump blues. Your playing reminds me of Johnnie Johnson.

I have two songs on the internet. Both are poorly recorded but they are what they are:

and the Warren Zevon song I did for the Boz-La-Desh Project, Track #18:

Great songs, everybody. Keep posting the links to them. I like listening to the music from people on this board much more than I like what I hear on the radio.
