The Lonesome Valley

Postby bottleneckjohn » Sun Jul 22, 2012 9:02 pm

Hey guys!

Uploaded a new clip today, something from "deep down inside", haha!
I just realized that I sometimes do go astray when I sing, only to "wake up" at the end of the song, a bit weird actually...

And btw, I do LOVE that new 12-string resonator I modified, lol..!!!

John, the way you played and sang that was just so steeped in the blues - I loved the measure of feeling you put into the piece and how you didn't overplay your guitar phrases, a case of less is more. Thanks for sharing. A well chosen location too. You are right at home on that 'new' 12 reso, aren't you? :D Peace.

Thank you my friends!!!
I really appreciate your kind comments, it means a lot to know there's folks out there feeling it..
This was the first time ever I even tried to sing this one, a test to see what would happen when I started playing, haha!
Turned out rather laid back and deeply emotional from my part.
I kind of "wake up" after the song is done, this was the first time I ever saw myself coming back to this world after being somewhere else for 3,5 minutes, hehe...

Anyhow, this 12-stringer is awesome, sound and playability is so wonderful..
I'm thinking I must ask Frank at Republic to consider building these!!

That was great--the sound of the 12 string reso was making my ears hard--but the singing was even better! Very nice job, Bottleneck!

I've discovered this on YouTube already, before I joined this board.

I love it, John. Your vocals are great and I like your playing style anyway.
