My piano playing

Postby snakehips » Sat Sep 03, 2005 8:33 pm

Hi there !

I found out how to show video footage on this forum (got idea/info from bighollowtwang on the "slide guitar" section, here)

I got a digital camera clip of me playing at a house party if anyone wants to see ? (well, you only see me towards the end, the rest is of people dancing to my playing)

Wow, I'm not ashamed to you say you put me to school in terms of keeping that time solid all by yourself; what's more, you kept coming up with these great little coherent licks to keep everything making sense melodically. Every chorus was as tight as could be, even though the context was loose and improvised. You've got good ears on you, I guess is what it comes down to. I hope you keep your video file up for a while so I -- and others, perhaps -- can hear your playing a little bit more closely.

45-caliber FMJ playing, on 22LR recording equipment. I hope you get around to putting some of this on wax or better -- it's unusually good. Feel free to share some of your tricks here, cause I'm not that tight on the time when playing solo and need to get up to that high energy on a budget, if you know what I mean.

Hi again !

Thanks for your kind words.

The footage is from a digital camera - then I had to downsize the quality to go on the webhosting site.

I'd post audio (only) if I could find an upload program that could downsize my audio files that I have already. Some have already suggested sites to me, but when I get there I can't find the exact program or it doesn't download and work for my PC.

Suggestions ?

Cool boogie Snakehips. What kind of puter u got? You should be able to convert almost any type sound file to any other type sound file. There are many programs that can do that. Many are free.

Later,it's time to make some music

If I were there, I'd have picked up that lonesome lookin' cutie off the couch to dance with.

Hi there !!

Thank you for your comments there. The girl you mention on the couch - I thought she was a bit weird !
My fiance is filming (on my digital camera - video mode).

It would be great to hear piano playing from some other members.

Anyone ?

The thread title "My piano playing" wasn't meant to mean "me, me, me !!!". It was meant to mean "me" in the global context !!
- for anyone to show their playing !! I wanna hear them !

"The girl you mention on the couch - I thought she was a bit weird!"

Aren't they all?

"My fiance is filming (on my digital camera - video mode)."

Next time have her record some more. I watched the clip again and man... I really dig that boogie!

BTW, Is there a section or even a thread in these forums showing video clips of people playing that I may have overlooked?

Hi again !

I don't think there is a specific area to show videos of people playing. I think it was the user "big hollow twang" that started a thread about videos (on the "slide guitar" forum, I think).

I thought that was cool and added mine (well, the thread gets quite long as I kept having trouble getting the video onto a hosting site.
Actually found Soundclick even more difficult for audio - got there eventually !!

Have you checked out Soundclick ?
