Marine Band Crossover and Thunderbirds

My son has accumulated some birthday cash, and it's burning a hole in his pocket. He's ready to drop the half hundred and change on a Marine Band Crossover. Anybody have any input on them? He also has an itch for a Thunderbird. That must be due to his study of double bass over the last 8 years.

Don't look at me.. I'm gettin' so jaded about different harps that I gave up carin'. I just buy stock SP20s now.
One thing though: the crossover really isn't that much more money than stock MBs & SP20s now that the most recent price increases have hit.

This went went NorthEast kinda!!! The final decision was to back off the Crossovers and buy a set of 5 Lee Oskars, based on the 1 Oskar Natural Diatonic and 1 Melody Maker.
