Looking for airplay in AUSTRALIA?

Postby jellyroll baker » Thu Feb 17, 2011 10:31 am

Based in Melbourne, PBS 106.7FM is one of Australia's largest community radio stations and is a leader in the blues and roots genres.

Starting March 3 your very own JellyRoll Baker (a.k.a. Matt) will be hosting The Juke Joint every Thursday from 1-3pm (Melbourne time, of course). The Juke Joint will be a blues only show playing a mix of classic tracks as well as strongly representing the contemporary blues scene.

PBS takes pride in providing an outlet for under-represented music and with that in mind I'm looking for music to play that might not otherwise be heard down here in the antipodes.

If you're looking for international airplay for your music CDs can be sent to:

Attn: Matt, The Juke Joint
PBS 106.7FM
PO Box 2917
Fitzroy MDC, 3065
AUSTRALIA

For more information about the show visit http://www.pbsfm.org.au/jukejoint. The show will be available for live streaming and radio-on-demand from that address.

For more information about PBS, including how to become a member of the station, visit http://www.pbsfm.org.au/. If you need to reach me via e-mail my address for all blues and radio related queries is pbsjukejoint@gmail.com.

PLEASE NOTE: At The Juke Joint we care about your ears. No MP3 submissions please. Vinyl is not only welcome but encouraged!

You didn't mention Blue Juice, though, did you? Trying to focus people's attention on your own show are you?

Seriously, all good stuff. Go for it.

Whoa! You know Blue Juice??? Awesome!

It amazes me how far the shows on our little station travel. We have a graveyard shift show that focuses on Carolina beach music ... and it has a big following in North Carolina.

I just looked at your station listings, gave it a try. Some absolutely brilliant stuff on there.

Yup. But we're doing better than those Queensland stations that rely entirely on Ediphone cylinders.

I'll forward this to our sax player (he does most of our booking and promo work) and ask him to send you a Big Daddy Stallings promo pack.
