Guitar/Harp in rack players

Postby birddog » Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:47 am

I love good guitar harp in rack players, someone recently posted this guy in another forum. I was surprised I never heard of him and checked out his site and youtube vids.
Who are others I need to know about?

Driftin' Slim is up there, and also the Legendary Honeyboy Edwards' Library of Congress recordings feature some wonderful rack harp playing, particularly on Wind Howling Blues.

Check out my good friend Curtis Blues:

Robert Lighthouse (another great local artist) plays amplified harp in a rack. He does a one mand band and also plays with a band.

You definitely need to check out Dr. Ross.

I've always admired Walter Tore's ability to get power and expressiveness while using a rack, regardless of whether you buy into his style & approach to music. I gave up playing racked harp with keyboard years ago.
