Is this blues? (Video)

Postby quiqueguitar » Mon Jul 26, 2010 4:55 pm

Hi forumites. I've just recorded this and uploaded it on the Internet. As you can see, I've named the video "Jazz-Blues Guitar". Well, some people complain that they don't see the blues side to it anywhere. I'd just like to know your opinion. Thanks in advance. Take care!!

Regardless of the pigeon hole you stick it in, it's very good.

I could hear some blues-y influences in a few of the melodic runs and a few of the changes, but it didn't feel like a blues tune to me. I think with the right bass and drums it could fit in with a jump band's repertoire, but as solo guitar just needs a bit more groove.

Does that make sense?

Anyway, sounded great!

Ignore those people. Of course you can call it jazz-blues. Good work.
