Speaker Cables

Postby birddog » Sun Jul 25, 2010 10:45 am

Need some speaker cables for a PA, someone suggested if I was handy with a soldering gun I could make them a heck of a lot cheaper.
After looking at the prices, figured they might be right.
Anyone done this?, Is there a good source for cable and connectors out there?
Also can someone let me know what might be good length's to go for for a typical setup as it's all new to me.

I picked this up from a pro player near me. He does solo shows and originally bought 2 of these as he thought he might need to have a back up if one failed.
I guess this Yamaha stuff never does so he figured he doesn't need 2 of everything. Still need cable though.
The speakers he had 2 different sets, let me pick and I took the SM12e's that can double as floor monitors if I ever expand.

I recommend either of these as I use both. Both a bit pricier than your standard stuff @ GC, MF or zzounds but well worth it.

I'm currently loving long time the george l's for guitar to amp too.
