Guitar/Amp collection

Postby birddog » Sun Feb 21, 2010 1:38 pm

Don't know if anybody has seen Joe Bonamassa's collection ? Hmm... I can appreciate a collection but it would be more of part of a retirement portfolio if I were ever able. Don't care for stuff I don't use.. but if I had his money hey, who knows.
If you took out all the Gibsons and Marshalls don't think you would have that much, not enough acoustics

Yeah it is pretty unreal. I have a VG issue where he talks about his gear and he only really talks about a few guitars. Big Gibson nut now. I think he wanted to get away from the "another strat-slinging blues kid" label.

That's quite the collection!

On a side note, after seeing this thread I finally decided to check out his music. I've heard so much about him but haven't actually heard him. He's a hell of a guitarist but his songs are just kind of generic IMO. His voice reminds me of Jonny Lang's.

I'm not a collector myself, I sell things I'm sure I won't use, if I can.
Imagine the torture of having listening to that guy explain all that STUFF, in detail. :wha:

I would actually like to listen to it. I love hearing about people's equipment and the stories behind them.

On second thought, I guess I do count close to 20 acoustics, only 4 resonators (I think) about a half dozen Tele's
Think I even see a couple banjo's in there but I get cross eyed looking and trying to count.
Someone else said his dad is a vintage guitar dealer so it makes sense.

I personally wouldn't mind it either. Too many Marshalls though and not enough Fender amps.

It's not my local shop, but I've bought stuff there. It's about 60 minutes from my house and worth the drive. It's a good place for vintage stuff.. amps/guitars/effects boxes. It's a great place to trade vintage stuff for new, 'cuz he works on slim margins both ways and does alotta volume. I like it also 'cuz the sales staff guys are all good players in their own right. My local shop is great too, but alot smaller.
