National go bye bye

Postby allanlummox » Tue Apr 06, 2010 8:34 pm

Well, after years of great service, it's time for some major work to be done on my Delphi - the neck heel has a crack that was repaired a few years ago, it's opening up and that's moving the action. The guitar also has SERIOUS fretwear - when you consider how much Slide I play, this guitar has seen a LOT of hours of play.

I'm shipping it to the factory for (I'm assuming) a new neck tomorrow. And then the pain of waiting! Good thing I have an El Trovador to keep me company!

Whew!...the thread title had me going WTF? I'm sure there is plenty of soul left in that guitar and oh what stories it could tell. Have them do the work. You Dan, are all the mojo that guitar needs!

The shovel is home and sounding great!

Good to have my old pal back.

Funny how different the 2 Nationals sound side by side.

Hey Dan, that's sounds a bit like emotional attachment to something that's just a "tool".

You're right, it does.

Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds. Do as I say, not as I do. Finish your peas.

I can see why the Shovel would be attached to Dan, but you shouldn't call him a "tool."
