What's a good CD catalog program?

Hi everyone.

I have the common problem of having heaps of blues CD's and needing a decent program to catalog them - including track titles etc.

I am looking for the best software for the job and know there is no point in re-inventing the wheel.

I am running Windows so if anyone can share their thoughts on this subject it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

There's a thread in the archives from several months back on this very question.

Hey King B-

You might have better luck posting this in the "In Search Of" forum.

The "Wish I Had Known This" forum is for solutions or tips to common problems that people want to share.

Good luck.

KingB, I have mine in Microsoft Access...it's great for cataloging and pulling up info by whatever you are interested in knowing. For instance, if you want to know how many recordings in your collection from various artists of "The Sky Is Crying," it's easy to get it to do that. Or if you simply want an alphabetized list with all pertinent info, it's good there too. Want to know what tunes or CD's (however you set it up) on what labels? Can do. You might check into it.

Good luck.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Aug-04-03 AT 11:55 AM (EST)]you could try this one........

http://www.collectorz.com/music/download.php

There are hundreds out there in web land, but after a long search this one would seem to be the best, worth paying the $40 for the full version.

Thanks for the tip. I have purchased the programmme you sugggested (Music Collector 6.1) and it is worth the money. I like the idiot-proof way you just stick a CD in the drive and it searches all these databases automatically, and how easy it is to fine how many versions of, say, 'Aint Got You' you have on the database.

try 'cd indexer'

[link://www.gdsoftware.dk|cd indexer] - this lets you index all cd's (music, software, pictures...)

you don't have to type in anything, just pop in cd and it catalogs it - which is a bit faster ;-) - and you can look up without cd in pc
