Another blues question (scales you use)

Postby wolfeyes » Sun Feb 25, 2007 2:47 pm

When just playing your basic blues in e ( e shuffle to a shuffle to b and back to e) what scales can you use to derive your fills?

this part always confuses me. i'm assuming the e minor pentatonic, e minor, g major pentatonic, and g major scale? i get really confused in this area. thanks.

For a long time I was staying in E minor pentatonic and hitting the 1, 4 and 5 notes with the chord changes...lately I'm liking the sound of E minor, A major and B major. Sometimes I'll switch between E minor and E major. I'm getting kind of rusty on the theory stuff...I kind of got to a point I don't worry about it and just play...it's like I'm at this chord, and you get used to the notes in the area that work, and you forget what scales they belong to  8)
