Do these hangers come with a pad to protect the back of the guitar from hitting the wall (like they have at stores)?

Nope......if you hit the guitar it could swing and hit the wall. A small foam pad or even a strip of weather stripping (with the sticky back) placed on the wall may be a good idea.
