6 string cherry

Postby 1four5 » Fri Mar 24, 2006 1:59 pm

Getting ready to head out to our monthly retirement home jam. I've been the banjo guy ever since our first show, and also use my 5 string dobro. I'm ok with 5 strings, and have pretty good confidence. My confidence level with 6 strings isn't so good. I've been practicing hard this month, and the National Bendaway sees the public for the first time in a couple hours. I'll be alternating between the Nat and my banjo. Man...I feel like an excited kid again :D

Alright, 1four!!!! What a blast. I like challenges myself. Keeps me out of trouble. Please let us know how it went. I find myself growing in music all the time even when I thought everything was just standing still!

Thanks ya'll!!!
It went great! I played good (never as good as I would like :D ) and we had a blast! Actually I was more "on" with the Nat than my banjo! One things for sure...when you play something like a National with a wide neck and 13's on it, and then pick up a banjo...it sure has a skinny little neck and strings so thin ya almost can't feel em!!! It's also a challange between the 9th fret marker on a guit and the 10th on a banjo...I missed a couple high F's darn it. But all and all it was a great jam, and the people had a good time. It was great for my confidence, and now that I know I can do it...the Bendaway is gonna get out a lot more!
