Now don't go giving me a big head -

Seriously, though, thanks.

I learned a while ago that if I dress the part, people take my music more seriously.

Plus, there's an odd thing. A few years ago, I saw the Sopranos TV series - mainly, I saw Little Steven dressed as a middle aged Dago instead of a gypsy and - well, I had a revelation.

Hey all,
Resurrecting the thread(getting in late). Love all the replies I've read. Here's my 2ct's worth.

I try to remember to cover the parts of me that normally get articles of clothing (feet, lower extremities, etc). I'm not kidding, I forgot socks once!

I generally wear nice jeans, and (Oh my) a jean shirt with our band logo and instrument we play embroidered on it, black socks and buckskin loafers. Comfort is a biggie with me also. Outdoors, add shades and a ballcap or panama.

Our band (B-1's of Contention) isn't taking money for our gigs yet, so we can't afford to look too "bitchin".

A person who also knows where every Salvation army and Goodwill in every town that they travel to is someone I can relate to. To have it down to a science is a true accomplishment. It means that you may have paid your dues by spending WAY too much time looking at everything and you're late for the job and might have to do it tomorrow and make that embarassing phone call "I'm sorry I went over on my last job, I'll be there tomorrow."
We played for the same bike club and I realized on the second one that I had worn the exact same thing. I just really liked this one black shirt and the same black jeans and the same black boots. Same black suede jacket. Next time will be different. At least the top.

i say... do your thing. Everyone likes different things, and has their own thoughts on appearence and clothing (and whether or not it has any significance).

Now call me crazy but I really like my sandals on stage because I get such a good feel on my wah pedal. I like wearing my sea bass boots but it never fails I'm like a 12 year old girl in her mother's heels with them on plus I don't have good touch on my effects. Other than that I consider where I'm at for how I dress. Most of the places I've played were honky tonks and kinda rough looking places. Never played behind a chicken wire fence yet but you never know.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-19-06 AT 11:44 AM (EST)]Hmmm...I wear whatever I was wearing earlier that day. I'd feel kinda weird doing otherwise...

...unless it's some kinda high-class gig, then I try to clean myself up a bit hahaha...

Usually I just wear whatever I usually wear, which is jeans and a t-shirt and motorcycle boots or chuck taylors...
