Sunday session

Postby lightninboy » Mon Apr 24, 2006 1:28 pm

Scored a regular gig at a local tavern on sundays, with my 10 year old daughter.
We've been performing off and on since she was seven, and she is a real talent.
She sings like a bird, and also plays a mean harmonica, violin, keyboards and a little guitar.
She killed 'em last sunday, holding the crowd in the palm of her hand.
We do songs like "Time after Time", "Stop draggin' my heart around" (on slide dobro w/ harmonica), some Dixie Chicks, Avril Lavigne, Madonna, Cheryl Crow, etc., and some old timey bluegrass stuff.
Its getting real hard for me lately, because of my lungs, and I'm afraid my vocal harmonies aren't quite up to scratch, and I start to get dizzie by the end of most songs.
But I want to play so bad, just can't stop.
I'll record some songs when I get a chance, and post them on soundclick.
I'm very proud of my girl, and just maybe she could make something out of all this one day.
At the moment she's quite happy with the money she's making just from sundays.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-25-06 AT 10:38 AM (EST)]That is so cool LB!

We all gotta make the most of our limited time in this world and it sounds like you are doing exactly that (please read my byline below). Your daughter will never forget and always have the music you two make together.

Nice to hear you are out of the hospital and doing a bit better.
