I got some exciting news at rehearsal last night. We got a slot on the Emerging Artists stage at the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival (formerly the King Biscuit Blues Festival). I don't have any details yet (like which day, how we're getting there and where we're staying), but we're commited to going. This could open a lot of doors.

If you need someone to carry your bags , be your driver, watch your gear, I would be available , I have heard stories about the festival, the stories (if true) indicate if a person doesn't have a great time there, they must be dead. Congratulations and "take em home"

I was there in, I think 1996, (as a fan making my first Delta pilgrimage) and had a blast. It's a great festival and I can't wait to play it. From the festival website, it looks like there are only a handful of bands/artists playing the Emerging Artists stage, so it's a real privilege to be chosen.

We're also entering the local IBC contests, so hopefully we'll go back to Memphis next year.

We've had a change of plans. It turns out that this would be an unpaid gig, and they wouldn't cover any expenses. If it were closer to home we would go, but it's just not worth traveling that far. Maybe one of these days we'll get a gig on the main stage.

Yeah, it bites to pay to play.
