Help name my band

Problems, how to get them, favorite songs to play, groupies, funky bar owners, etc. NO names of clubs, please.

Help name my band

Postby stratman_27 » Fri Jul 21, 2006 2:03 am

We've not discussed naming my band yet but I sure could use some ideas from you guys. We play blues and classic rock. Band members age ranges from me at 34 to the bass player who's 52. Can't have no teeny bopper name. Help me out folks.

Musicians Friend has a name generator on their website that comes up with some interesting titles. Click on "fun Zone" in the blue band at the top of the page.

Unless you are gonna play strictly blues clubs ( which doesn't sound likely),I would not include any reference to blues in your name. It tends to scare off people who are not blues fans. I always wanted to name a band "The Rockets", but I haven't been able to get anybody to go along with it.

You might need some Rockettes to go with that.

If it helps, try thinking of a name that emphasises your sensitive natures. John Deere.

How about Street Smart's?

Thanks, DC. You're a real jokester.

Stratman- I posted the following in your Hog Roast thread as well-

Always thought that if I was from Kentucky that "KY Jelly" would be cool!

Just kidding...unless you like that one.

More information would help. Town name, number of members, etc.

A local group here calls themselves "WET" after their last name initials- Wentworth, Elliott and Taber. My band name "Streetsmart" came from a television show.
