Bad timing

This weekend was going to be a big one.
Friday night my wife and I were asked along to a comedy show, payed for by a couple of my regular fans. We haven't been out together for a while, had a baby sitter, all set.
Saturday was to be a big concert, with my blues duo, a bluegrass band, and a blues rock band.
Sunday, I have been running an open mic/jam with my daughter, and the tourist bureau were going to make a documentary about it, with us being interviewed, and a video taken of us playing.
We would of been seen in picture theatres during the advertisements, and other places.
So what happens, I get pneumonia so bad I can't move, with a high fever.
Aye aye aye!
I don't really care, as I've got bigger fish to fry, but gee-sh, just once in a while I wish the cookies would crumble the right way for me.
Oh well, maybe I'll write a blues.
Pneumonia blues?

That's a real drag LB. Hope you're feeling better. That tourism video sounds cool - what does your daughter play/sing?

Wow, timing IS everything!

I hope that's the rockin' pneumonia, I've heard the other kinds can be pretty nasty.
Seriously, get well soon :)

my daughter plays harmonica & sings. We do all kinds of stuff, including "stop dragging my heart around", "Time after time", a lot of Dixie Chicks songs,, etc. She also plays Violin, keyboards, and a little guitar.
The doco was some tourist promo, not about us, we were just going to be a small part of it, probably.
They shot a little of us last week, but the guy didn't bring lighting gear, or something.

Thanks mate.
Luckily I don't have the boogie woogie flu.
I'm feelin better already.

Thanks Bosco,

I'm doing ok.

I should be back playing by thursday, & this weekend, with luck.

I feel good tonight, my duo partner brought me my pay check for saturday, even though I didn't play. Sick pay? I reluctantly took it.

Hey Maxx,

I'll challenge you for the title of stickbod king.
I used to have quite a muscular physique, but lately I look like a skeleton.
Mr puniverse!

I think you've been beaten to the "Pneumonia Blues," LB. I think you could still be first with the "Acute Exacerbation of COPD Blues," if you want to give it a shot. Glad you're getting better!

Hard to get something to rhyme with that! :)

There's not a whole lot that rhymes with pneumonia, either. Once you get past ammonia, you've really got to dig.

We have so much talent here, my goodness!!!! Lightnin', I can't but wonder all the time why things go the way they do. It confuses the holy h*ell outta me. I ask for guidance and I don't understand the answers most of the time. If it weren't for faith and hope I think I would just spend the rest of my stay here partying it up with no thought of anything or anyone else. Glad it did not go that way. You must ask all the time,"ok, why would I be in this situation and want to learn all of this? What lessons AM I getting here?" As I ask this I am guessing that you have given it over and you have incredible patience, and understanding and are probably able to appreciate your life, your music, and your family more than most. You probably want to give all you can and live as fully as possible every moment. Some would become bitter and despondent over the "unfairness" of the situation and waste what time they had. Some of us who are healthy do that! How close that must make you to everything real. It is a lesson to me today. I don't want to waste time in negativity or doubt or anger or worry. I will try to bring myself back to the present every time and think of you for some inspiration! Cause in Caledonia they're gonna walkonya, if you don't wallop on your harmonica.
