We were practicing a couple weeks ago at lunch, and a guy from another shop came walking through our shop, and stopped to listen. Last week he came back and asked if we would play at his retirement party. Here's the rub...it's at 1 pm this Sunday...while we are supposed to be working. Well...the military promotes this kind of stuff, and we asked our boss...and he said sure, we could go play for the guy's party! He came and chose a bunch of songs from our set book, and we gonna play our butts off over in his shop...on the clock. How cool is that?

Hey that's pretty cool...sounds like the countdown has begun for your boy! Man I wish I could say that...but who knows...maybe I can. I go over 20 in August 8) Tom our lead guitar and singer, and Tim our bass player are both already over 20 and can retire anytime they want...I think the only thing that keeps em coming to work is jamming every day.

Every once in awhile the company I work for gives us a long lunch when they have a company picnic or a buffet style dinner. I usually bring my flattop and jam with the bass player from my band. Other than that its 20 minutes for lunch and thats barely enough time to eat.

Don't know why, but it seemed like when I was in the service, every third or fourth person played SOMETHING. I kinda miss that. When circumstances permitted (and sometimes even when they didn't), there was always some kind of a jam going on.
