Get rid of DS-1?

I have two pedals, a Boss DS-1 and a Boss OD-2.

I actually prefer just the sounds of a guitar and amp, but the OD-2 is useful as a volume boost and an overdrive sound when I want to switch quickly from rhythm to lead.

The DS-1 sound just too "canned," "metal" and solid state for me and quite limited as far as playing blues, R&R or country rock.

I've been thinking of offering it in exchange for a Boss TU-2 tuner on Craigslist.

What do you think of that idea?

I have a DS-1. I havent used it in more than 6 months. You're exactly right; it sounds terrible. If you don't use it, get rid of it. I should probably get rid of mine.

I have a DS-1 and use it extensively. I play mostly on a clean channel, and set the DS-1's tone setting at 7 o'clock, and the Distortion at 9 o;clock, with the volume at 12 o'clock. I find it puts off a warm overdriven sound. But, thats just me.

You could always get it modded, or mod it yourself. There are all sorts of clipping mods and tone mods floating around for the DS-1.

I used to have one, but was not satisfied with it. I found better tones with a Danelectro FAB distortion for about 10 bucks. Much more musical
