One will have to go

Postby goldbrick » Mon Nov 17, 2008 1:20 am

Just too many strats around right now

I have a 1999 SRV and a 1989 Clapton with great Lace pickups-- which one you think I ought to sell ?

Do you have more, or just those two? If you only have those two, that's far from too many. If I could, I would own 20 of em. I used to not be pleased with mine, but I've recently got them working the way I want and I love them both.

If I was you, I would hold on to the Clapton one since it's older. It might be worth a lot more sooner. Of course, I wouldn't get rid of either of them. I don't even think about selling any of my axes.

My main 2 guitars are an American Standard with 54 custom shop pickups and a Mexican FSR with 12" radius neck and USA noiseless pickups

I also have a Stratosonic ( p90 mahogany body), Japanese Squier bullet , 66 Duosonic and 1974 hardtail Strat.

My son ( hes 13 and been playing for 6 years ) has a Mexican 70's reissue and a Mexican sunburst lefty converted to right.

As you can see we are over the top with Strats

So you do have a lot. Well, sell the one you use the least.

That would be the 2nd year Clapton Strat?
I thought they sounded better with Lace Sensors really.

That's still one of my fav Strats - what year/color is it?

SRV Strats rock too. Tough call.
The SRV Strat might be Fender's best regular production model Strat (mayer model?)..
I'm not a fan of lefty trems, so I'd probably keep the Clapton.

pEAcE,
jb
ps: no wait - i'd sell the Clapton Strat neck to Troubleman, that's what I'D DO!!!!

7up green body is perfect and very resonant- the maple neck is nice and worn

Lace sensors are better than the new ones-- I really bought this for the pickups

sn says 89 neck says 92 if I remember right

freakin' Strats , cant leave em alone

Neither of them! Keep them!! I promise you, you will be looking for another Strat as soon as you let one go. I just sold an ES-135 to thin out the herd. I have 3 Strats and I am on Ebay looking at others. So much for thinning out the herd. Oh that G.A.S!!! 8)

Nothing to trade! I'm keeping the 3 Strats I have. As far as getting another, I'm looking, but I'm more bark than bite. I need another like a hole in the head!! :D
